The Ministry of Health in Muchinga Province has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ehad Innovations and Infrastructure to construct housing units for members of staff at the Chinsali General Hospital. Chinsali General Hospital Medical Superintendent Willies Silwimba, says the Mou is meant to address the accommodation crisis that the health facility has been facing. Speaking during the MoU signing ceremony at the Chinsali General Hospital, Dr. Silwimba charged that the housing infrastructure will also be coupled with a nursing school from within the hospital premises. He said Ehad Innovations and Infrastructure has come at the right time when the number of hospital staff is increasing. “We are grateful to Government for this agreement with these local investors because throughout this project, many jobs will be created here,” he said.
And Muchinga Province Assistant Secretary, Mr. Chiwele Kondomone who witnessed the signing ceremony said Government will continue engaging investors in bringing infrastructure development in the province. Mr. Kondomone said the construction of the housing units for the members of staff at the general hospital is a good innitiative by the Ministry of health, stressing that transport challenges to the health facility will be a thing of the past. He further commended both Ehad Innovations and Infrastructure and the Chinsali General Hospital for reaching an agreement of the projects.
Meanwhile, Ehad Innovations and Infrastructure Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dennis Bwalya thanked the provincial administration for facilitating the signing of the MoU. Mr Bwalya said his organisation will continue working with Government in coming up with various investment ventures. “The housing units project will begin as soon as all the paperwork is done and land surveyed”, he added. Ehad Innovations and Infrastructure has also shown interest in investing in agriculture in Chinsali and Mpika districts.
