LAVUSHIMANDA – Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary, Dr. Tuesday Bwalya, has handed over K2,754,000 in Constituency Development Fund (CDF) grants to 153 clubs in Lavushimanda District, with each club receiving K18,000.

Speaking at the handover ceremony in Mfuwe Constituency, Dr. Bwalya said the 2026 CDF grants are meant to empower applicants through village banking, reducing vulnerability and improving livelihoods. He noted agriculture is the main sector focus, stating the funds will advance production and food security at the local level.

“The grants we are handing over today are not merely financial resources; they are investments in the dreams, talents, and potential of our people,” Dr. Bwalya said, adding that the funds target small businesses, cooperatives, youth and women’s groups, and community-based initiatives.

However, he sternly warned beneficiaries to use the funds strictly for approved purposes, emphasising accountability, transparency, and prudent financial management. Dr. Bwalya urged recipients to maintain proper records, implement projects diligently, and comply with monitoring requirements set by the local authority.

PS commended the CDF Committee, Ward Development Committees, and all stakeholders involved in the selection process for their dedication. He reiterated government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, job creation, and community empowerment, while ensuring the allocated resources yield measurable results.

“I expect the beneficiaries to become ambassadors of success and inspire others to take advantage of opportunities provided through CDF,” He concluded.
