ZAMBIA HOSTS KEY DISCUSSION ON BRIDGING DIGITAL DIVIDE, PROMOTING ONLINE FREEDOM

 

The Electronic Government Division participated in the 2025 Lusaka Internet Meet-Up, held on November 6th at M’Kango Golfview Hotel in Lusaka.

The event focused on Zambia’s digital future, with discussions on cyber policy, online rights, and digital inclusion.

“The Digital Zambia Acceleration Project is advancing the country’s digital transformation by expanding ICT infrastructure, delivering e-services, and building digital skills,” said Ms. MWANGO SICHONE, Principal – Quality Assurance.

Key issues addressed at the meet-up included internet access, online freedom of expression, cybersecurity, and stakeholder engagement.

The event brought together government officials, civil societies, ICT sector players, and media to discuss how to balance innovation with rights protection.

The Lusaka Internet Meet-Up continues to grow as a dynamic platform for promoting digitalization in Zambia.
