
The New Dawn Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing rural infrastructure with the successful commissioning of the Lwitikila Acrow Bridge in Kanchibiya District, Muchinga Province.
This milestone, led by Hon. Eng. Charles Milupi, MP,Minister of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development,comes just a day after the inauguration of the Aluni-Mulonga Acrow Bridge in the same district, marking significant progress in connecting rural communities and improving accessibility.
✅ A Game-Changer for Kanchibiya the Lwitikila Acrow Bridge,constructed at a cost of K7.8 million is part of the Government’s broader plan to install 131 Acrow Bridges across seven provinces through the Road Development Agency (RDA).
“These bridges are catalysts for growth connecting communities to markets, healthcare, education, and industries while reducing travel time and infrastructure-related risks,”said Eng. Milupi.
The Minister further emphasized the Government’s commitment to modernizing Zambia’s road network ensuring seamless movement of people, goods, and services.
Hon. Njavwa Simutowe, Muchinga Provincial Minister, highlighted the economic benefits these bridges will bring to local farmers and businesses in Kanchibiya.
“This bridge is a symbol of progress and unity among the community, government, and stakeholders.
“It will enhance agricultural activities by providing easier access to markets and inputs,ultimately boosting productivity and livelihoods,” said Mr. Simutowe.
With more bridges and roads under construction, the New Dawn Government remains committed to infrastructure-driven economic transformation ensuring rural communities are not left behind.
