Fellow citizens.
The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) has officially granted Kanchibiya Community Radio Station its radio frequency; 95.9FM.
The construction of Kanchibiya Community Radio Station was made possible through the expanded Constituency Development Fund (CDF), demonstrating the UPND New Dawn Government’s commitment to strengthening media accessibility in rural areas.
Further, this development is a testament to President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND New Dawn Government’s desire and determination to enhance the free flow and public access to information.
Information plays a critical role in national development by enabling informed decision-making at various levels.
As Government, we reiterate our commitment to creating a conducive environment for the media to flourish in the country.
We call for government, media and civil society collaboration in combating misinformation, protecting media freedom and promoting legitimate online sources.
The media is a vital institution to any society and people should stop doing illegalities under freedom of expression.
