The Government, through Isoka Town Council, has awarded contracts of over K1.8 million for the construction of three ablution blocks.

The ablution blocks will be constructed at Isoka Old Market, Mwenya Primary School, and the newly completed Milongo health post where a water tank will also be installed.

The three projects are funded through the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and are part of the council’s efforts to improve the lives of residents in the area.

Isoka Town Council Public Relations Officer Peter Sichali said the contracts were awarded to local contractors Lemis General Dealers and Aledoth and Muzanu General Dealers and Lemis General Dealers.

“The three projects include the construction of an ablution block and a water tank at Milongo Health Post at the cost of K608, 934, construction of an ablution block at Isoka old market at the K599, 764, construction of an ablution block at Mwenya Primary school valued at K601, 503.20,” Mr Sichali said.

He said the council is committed to improving the lives of citizens in the district, and these projects are a significant step in that direction.

The Council Public Relations Officer said he is confident that the local contractors will deliver high-quality work and meet the needs of the community.

Mr Sichali disclosed that all three projects are expected to be completed within six months, with the contractors working closely with the council to ensure timely completion.

“The ablution blocks at Old Market and Mwenya Primary School will improve sanitation and hygiene for our residents and students, while the water tank and ablution block at Milongo health post will provide clean water and sanitation facilities for our healthcare workers and patients,” he said.

Mr Sichali has urged residents to support the contractors and ensure the success of the projects.

“We believe that these projects will have a positive impact on our community, and we look forward to their completion,” he said.
