Chinsali, January 25, 2023,ZANIS—MUCHINGA Province Permanent Secretary Henry Mukungule has called on the private sector to come on board in the successful hosting of the Muchinga 2023 Investment Forum and Tourism Expo.
Mr Mukungule says the input of the private sector is significant towards the effective planning ahead of the Investment and Tourism Forum.
Speaking during a Special Live programme on Muchinga Radio Station in Chinsali today, Mr Mukungule charged that the Provincial administration is on course with the preparations of the event, stressing that Government is engaging various cooperating partners in the planning process.
He said many investors have so far shown interest in investing in the province in various sectors such as agriculture and mining.
“We have already started engaging with potential investors that aim at establishing Industries and Factories that will in turn create jobs for our local people,” He stated.
He stated that the Investment Forum and Expo is an important event that will bring massive development to the province with collaborated efforts from the general citizenry.
The Permanent Secretary further mentioned that promotional programmes have also been kick-started around the country ahead of the important event.
And Muchinga Investment Forum and Tourism Expo Coordinator, Mataa Kamenda said potential investors in the mining sector have also approached the Provincial administration with the aim of establishing a plant.
Mr Kamenda charged that the development of the mining sector in Muchinga has massive potential to bring about economic development to the region.
He further disclosed that a group of Investors from South Africa have come on board to partner with the province in bringing investment, adding that a memorandum of understanding will soon be signed.
“We want this event to be inclusive from small to big investors and this is why we are calling upon all potential investors to support this cause”, he stated.
Meanwhile, Expo Co-coordinator Sandra Kambuleki, said the developmental agenda of the province through the forum aims at unlocking various potentials that the region has in all sectors.
Ms Kambuleki said it is for this reason that the agriculture, mining, tourism and energy sectors have been the major emphasis when interacting with investors.
“We are optimistic that through various interventions and engagements, this important event will be successful,”She said.
She further stated that a Website for the Expo was created and is active for registration purposes.
The Muchinga Investment Forum and Tourism Expo is slated to be held in October this year.

Muchinga Province is located in the northeast of the country and was created in the year 2011 after detaching it from mother province – Northern Province. The name of the province originates from the Muchinga Escarpment; on which it predominantly sits. The province elongates from southwest to northeast and is located on both sides of the Muchinga Mountains (Muchinga Escarpment).
