Muchinga Province finished third in ranking among the 10 provinces that took part in the five days event that came to an end yesterday.

Lusaka Province have been crowned champions of the 2022 National Youth Sports festival.

Lusaka scooped top prize while Southern Province came out second .

Lusaka got 10 gold medals, five silver and seven bronze, while Southern Province had four gold, one silver and one bronze medals.

Over 1-thousand Athletes from across the country took part in the sports festival that was headlined by seven sports disciplines and held in Lusaka.

And speaking during the closing Ceremony Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts ELVIS NKANDU said Government has met it’s objective of hosting the Sports festival.

NKANDU said identifying talent from every corner of the country, giving athletes exposure and an opportunity to be selected for regional event’s was among the major objectives of hosting the event.

And at the same event the Zambia Basketball Association donated two basketball balls to each Province as a way of helping raise the profile of the game in the Provinces.

Association General Secretary RODRICK NDHLOVU said the donation is one way to offering support adding that more will be done to ensure the sport Is revived in the Provinces.
